Digital marketing is confusing—really confusing—as this insane graphic shows (below).

Trying to navigate through the various new social media categories, blogs, sharing sites, and social media firms is an absolute mess.

This depiction of the digital marketing landscape was shown at a Buddy Media event marking the launch of the social marketing software agency’s new suite of measurement tools.

You can click to enlarge it, but that won’t make it look any simpler.

The Institute of Recruiters (IOR) is a British Institute representing the highest standard mark in British recruitment.  As the professional body for HR, Agency & In-House recruiters, it is the voice of professionals working in the recruitment and retention process that fall into the areas of agency recruitment, corporate (in-house) recruitment and HR.  IOR Membership levels are select, based on assessed and qualified international standards.

The IOR has been granted official UK Institute status by the Secretary of State for Business Innovation and Skills, and has gained recognition as a professional recruitment membership body of the highest standing. It is also the only official British institute to offer membership to both recruitment companies and individual recruiters.

The IOR also has individual routes to qualification for HR, Agency & In-House recruiters, and facilitates better communication, interaction, and understanding of the objectives and skill sets between each specialism.  The result is an improved holistic process, and a widening of knowledge for practitioners in each area.

The IOR has close links with the Employment Agency Standards Inspectorate (EAS), adopting its standards as its own conduct regulations. Equally, its professional qualifications are directly linked to the British National Occupational Standards in Recruitment and British universities, ensuring that, in terms of both compliance and training, the IOR represents British best practice.

As the highest standard mark in British recruitment, membership of the IOR is available on several levels.  Individual membership starts at a free affiliate level, rising to £49 as a fellow. Corporate membership starts at just £249 and includes free membership for all company staff. There is no joining fee.

Zynga online gambling…. but not as you know it!

March 5, 2012 in business insight..., Business social, igaming, Social Media, Social Media Marketing

Social media and igaming comment from CNA Executive SearchZynga CEO Mark Pincus thinks online gambling is a “natural fit” for its games, he said at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media and Telecom conference today.

“I think it’s a good natural fit. I think, philosophically, the part people haven’t noticed yet, real money gaming is the perfect with virtual goods and social games.”

Online gambling represents at least a billion-dollar opportunity for the social gaming company. Some recent changes in laws could open the door for online gambling games on platforms like Facebook, which represents a golden opportunity for the now-public social gaming company.

Zynga is already well-positioned, Pincus said, because Zynga Poker is the largest online poker game in the world. It has more than 30 million monthly players, and Zynga is releasing other casino-related games like Zynga Bingo.

Don’t expect them to focus on solely traditional gambling games, though, he said.

“We’re interested, but you should expect to see us do a lot more than what you’ve seen in offshore casinos,” he said.
